The Story of Joewis

We had our 1st date in February 2016 at quaint Le Diplomate. With Joe in DC and Lewis in NYC, our relationship clicked without question— we took turns turns visiting one another via BoltBus, every weekend for about a year.

The Location

Meet us in the middle— we chose Philadelphia for our big day, as it is quite literally the halfway point for our journeys between NYC and DC.

The Double Proposal

Lewis proposed to Joe at the George Washington Bridge overlook on April 23rd, 2018. He then treated him to a surprise brunch where a video truck drove up and began playing this video in front of Joe’s family and friends:

Joe then proposed back to Lewis in May while cruising the backwaters of Kerala via boat. He then brought him to a surprise stay at an 18th century royal palace, Chittoor Kottaram.

Lewis is originally from Palatine, Illinois, having moved to the east coast in 2007 for college at The School of Visual Arts (SVA).

Joe is originally from Chingavanam, Kerala, India. He spent intermittent years between the US and Kerala for school and after college at SUNY Buffalo lived across the northeast US.
